Special Programs at First Christian Church
- Disciples' Men
- The men of the church are invited to gather for an early breakfast
on the first Saturday of each month, September through May. This
is a time for developing mission projects, for hearing a variety of
speakers and for fellowship.
- Disciples' Women
- The women's organizations have long been one of the strengths of the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This is certainly true of
our congregation. Our Christian Women's Felloship (CWF) is comprised
of four circles that meet monthly for study, fellowship and refreshment.
Much emphasis is placed on mission.
- Cottage Groups
- Every member of our congregation is a member of a Cottage Group or
cell group under the care of one Elder and four members of Diaconate.
The Elder over each group is called upon to be a pastor to his or her
respective group. Cottage groups are the means through which we manage
a prayer chain. When an emergency arises in the congregation this
chain is called by telephone and given a request for prayer and action.
- Sunday School Classes
- Sunday Morning at 9:00am is a busy time at the church. The youth spend
their time in a structured study plan that teaches the message through
art, song, drama and reading. The adult classes range from Basic Bible
Study to biblical interpretation skills to a study of literature within
Christianity. Specialized classes are continually introduced so come
in early and find the class that is right for you.
