Stephen Ministry at First Christian Church

Stephen Ministry has become an integral way in which the First Christian Church (DOC) of Macomb reaches out to its members and community to provide caregiving ministry. Since 2003, seven Stephen Ministers have received 50 hours of caregiving training and are now providing one-to-one Christian care to individuals experiencing crises such as the loss of a loved one, divorce, a terminal illness, loneliness, unemployment, hospitalization, a spiritual crisis, or the birth of a child.

Also, involved in the Stephen Ministry are three Stephen Leaders who are the congregational leaders who make Stephen Ministry happen. They plan for this ministry, develop support, find and train Stephen Ministers, and make Stephen Ministry fit well with the congregation's other ministries.
