Annual Light Bulb & Broom Sale Held every Spring, this door to door campaign offers brooms assembled and light bulbs boxed by sight impaired workers. Club members have raised funds for blind activities selling light bulbs for the last 38 years. The dates this year are April 21 to May 5, 2011.

 

Candy Days In October of each year the club joins with the Lions of Illinois Foundation and all other clubs across the state for "Lions Candy Days." This event is the major fund raising effort for the foundation to support its many programs and activities. The money raised through Candy Days in Macomb helps local children and adults with low vision aids, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and other assistance. Also, Candy Days proceeds help children attend Camp Lions, low vision clinics, along with many other opportunities. We thank all the local businesses who help in the underwriting and all the members who devote their hard work and time.

 

Diabetes Day Diabetes risk tests and sugarless candy are handed out in the Macomb community to raise awareness about diabetes each November during American Diabetes Month.

Pancake-Sausage Breakfast The Pancake-Sausage Breakfast is held annually in conjunction with Macomb Heritage Days at the Municipal Airport during the Sunday fly-in. We do this with the Colchester Lions Club each year as a fundraiser to support Club programs.

 

Macomb Lions Appreciation Day Lions Appreciation Day began this year in September, 2010, as a new fundraiser to encourage individuals in the community to show appreciation to someone special by buying and giving roses. Since it was so well received, this is to beome an annual event !
