Talked about wind energy and how proposals come about. Illinois is 6th in the U.S. for wind production. We have 2100 megawatts being produced currently with more being developed all the time. From beginning to end process can take a few years to get a wind farm into production. In recent months, there has been more resistance by some to having wind farms near residences.
1. Sight and Sound Sweepstakes. Lion Morgan asked those who had books to get them back. Theyare due at the next meeting.
2. Lion Battin talked about memorial for Lions Severinsen and Thie. It was decided that we should take up a collection and buy more books for Lincoln School’s visually impaired section in their library.
3. Lions Beal and Bowen brought up a community service project. We will walk and pickup debris on highway between University Drive and Tower Road. We need to do this at least once a month. Three teams will be formed with 6 members per team. Then a schedule will be set.
Tail Twister Sweepstakes – $5.00 won by Lion Carter. Donated to the Administrative Fund.
